We have a Domino R6.01 server on the Internet, serving a few different websites, using the new R6 Internet Sites functionality, which all works very nicely, thank you.
I understand that when an HTTP request comes in, the requested URL is examined & a matching Internet Site document is found, the settings of which are then used to satisfy the request.
I also have two SMTP Inbound Internet Sites documents - are they meant to do the same thing, based on the name/address connected to? I ask because (i) this doesn't appear to work (having changed some settings on one for testing, it doesn't seem to make any difference); & (ii) whilst writing this, I've wondered to myself how it could possibly work, as surely, & unlike HTTP, there is no header in which the requested URL can be placed. With SMTP, surely you just connect to a port on an address, right?
If what I think I've just worked out is true, then I needn't bother having two SMTP Inbound Site documents (I don't actually need them to have different settings).
